Comprehensive Support Programs

At Fayetteville Cares, our programs are designed to provide essential support and services to individuals experiencing homelessness. We believe in addressing both immediate needs and long-term challenges to create pathways to stability and hope. Through our Basic Needs and Professional Services programs, we strive to offer holistic care and empower our guests to build brighter futures.

 

Basic Needs Programs

Our Basic Needs programs focus on providing immediate relief to those experiencing homelessness. These services are crucial for maintaining dignity, health, and well-being, and they serve as the foundation for our guests to start their journey towards stability.

Showers

The Shower Program at Fayetteville Cares offers hot showers daily, providing a crucial service for maintaining personal hygiene and dignity. This program is essential for health and well-being, often serving as a first step towards securing employment, where personal appearance plays a crucial role.

Guests can walk in and check in at the front desk to be assigned a time slot for a shower. We have four shower units, and each guest is given 20 minutes. This service operates on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

Phone Recharging Station

The Phone Recharge Station ensures that guests can stay connected with employers, service providers, and healthcare providers. Access to a phone is critical for maintaining communication and accessing necessary services.

 

Guests can walk in to the Fayetteville Cares Resource Center during operating hours to use the phone recharge station on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

Lunch

The Lunch Program serves over 150 meals weekly to those in need. This program ensures that no one goes hungry and is a testament to our commitment to combating hunger in our community.

 

Meals are available at 128 South King Street in Fayetteville, NC, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Guests can come during these hours to receive a free, nutritious meal.

 

Laundry Service

Our Laundry Service ensures that guests have access to clean clothes, which is vital for health and personal dignity. This service helps individuals take significant steps forward, often towards securing employment.

 

Guests can walk in and check in at the front desk to be assigned a time slot for laundry services. No appointments can be made after 3:00 PM. This service is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

 

Haircuts

In Partnership with Cut My City guests can receive haircuts once a month on the last Wednesday of each month 1-4pm. Sign up is a first-come first serve basis starting at 9am that day.

 

Guests can walk in and check in at the front desk to be assigned a time slot for a haircut. An outside vendor visits Fayetteville Cares twice a month to provide this service on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

Computer Lab

We have 8 computers available to use for 30 minutes at a time. Guests check in at the front desk to receive a code to use the computers.

Professional Services

Our Professional Services programs offer specialized support to address the root causes of homelessness. By connecting guests with experts in various fields, we provide comprehensive care that goes beyond immediate needs, aiming for long-term stability and success.

Veteran Services

Veteran Services offer specialized support and advocacy for veterans, helping them transition back to civilian life. This program provides access to benefits and services that empower veterans for their future endeavors.

 

Case managers assess each guest to determine if they are a veteran. If so, they are connected with veteran service providers to see if they qualify for any veteran benefits. This service is provided by Warrior Legal Service Organization and Veterans of America.

Shine for Sight

Through our partner, Shine For Sight Outreach, guests can receive no-cost eye exams and be fitted for eyeglasses when eligible.

Medical Assistance

Case managers assess each guest. If a guest needs healthcare treatment, they are referred to a certified healthcare professional onsite. This service is provided by Better Health, Goshen Medical, Carolina Outreach, and Carolina Collaborative Community Care (4C).

Housing Assistance

Housing Assistance  provides the opportunity for stable housing and support services as a foundation for recovery. This approach recognizes that stable housing is a prerequisite for effective psychiatric and substance abuse treatment and for improving the quality of life.

 

Case managers assess each guest. Guests are provided with the opportunity for stable housing and linked with necessary services to support their recovery and stability.

Coordination of Care & Support

Coordination of Care involves organizing patient care activities and sharing information among all participants to achieve safer and more effective care. This approach helps individuals take on more health-fostering activities over time.

 

Every guest who meets with a service provider or visits the DRC to have their basic needs met is entered into our database and receives some level of coordination of care. This service is provided by CoC – Continuum of Care, Operation Inasmuch, Marius Maximus, and Communicare.
